1997 ELECTIONS.
Due to great spread of corruption in the land, Khanzada Emran felt the necessity to do something to create awareness, to improve society, as a whole, in order to reduce corruption.
There were not many options, as he was a private businessman. He could either form an NGO or go into Politics. He chose both and at the end of 1996, decided to test the waters of Pakistani politics and filed papers of the National Elections, on NA-191, as an independent candidate.
Lacking party workers, he used volunteers, paid workers and a small Air-Craft to drop his messages over the constituency of South Karachi, with a theme of :
“VOTE FOR CORRUPTION
OR
VOTE FOR A CHANGE.”
He felt that it is necessary to continue to find a way to help the society and Nation, yet the path via these two routes Social work and Politics, are not necessarily always clean and despite serious offers by the then leading political parties, he declined and kept the matter on hold, until 2001.

Hence it should be binding one person or persons who announces a manifesto
I am 46 years old and a graduate from university of Dhaka besides studied at I.B.A Karachi. I have traveled very often to Europe Far East , China and to the USA on business for the company I work for .
At present ,I have decided to enter into politics on an absolutely independent platform , hoping to bring in a new theme of honesty ,integrity , patriotism and a two way communication between the people and those they pay to serve them . I have no hope that their present politicians or their existing parties can deliver anything good for the people unless the people themselves decide , like me , to participate in the national life and force a change ! .
I am not talking of a revolution but of a strong decision to uphold the finer values of our life , culture and civilizations.
The future plans are to continue to seek your support and carry on with the mission until victory of the people is achieved !
We are a good people with bad government and this cannot go on forever . you must unite under a neutral independent platform and show the light to good governance !
My Manifesto , framed with a fresh , nationalistic and patriotic objectives are as follows :
1 . Go back to the basics for the countrymen ( Health , Education & Honest Governance )
2. Promote the idea of modernizing and updating the working of the judiciary
& the
Executive branches , in line with the idea that we no longer live under
a colonial rule .
3. Reduced Federal and Provisional non-development budgets .
4. To lobby for compulsory Military training for all citizens to reduce the financial burden of maintaining the larger number of professional men-at-arms.
5.The basic need of the hour I improvement of the response and quality at the police station (Thanas) so that citizens get better response towards justice and protection from known evils .
6. Accountability (Ehtesab) to be enforced but not for the public figures only .
7. Tax Collection base be properly expanded , instead of short cuts of taxing the already taxed .
8. Commitments made with the international community be reviewed and followed .
9. The image of Pakistan and Pakistanis is to be improved .
